| If all of your applications are installed under the same version and database you can install the APPX Report Writer once and access all of your data. If you have more than one version of your applications and would like to use the Report Writer for each, you must install the Report Write application for each version.
While Appx allows you to access data across versions and databases, that is controlled by the designer through code. The Report Writer is an application written specifically to create reports without coding and coding knowledge. As such the user that is creating a report does not access to the means to cross versions to retrieve data.
